Researcher/Adviser - Refugee and Migrants' Rights
£38,975 + benefits
Fixed term contract of one year in duration
London or another agreed suitable location
*About the role*
As an adviser in the Refugee and Migrants’ rights team, you will help
shape Amnesty International’s work on migrants rights. You will conduct
research and develop Amnesty International’s (AI) policy positions on
migrants’ rights issues including criminalization, detention and
exploitative labour practices. You will provide authoritative legal and
policy thematic advice to country and thematic specialists in the
International Secretariat, sections and structures. You will also carry
out related advocacy work and will be expected to do some work on
refugees issues, as required by the team.
*About you*
With extensive specialist knowledge and a significant period of
practical experience working on migrants’ rights issues in an advocacy
setting, you will have professional experience of desk and field based
research relevant to migrants’ rights in addition to your policy
development experience. An ability to conduct in-depth research to very
high standards is essential, along with good project management,
organisational and interpersonal skills. You will have experience of
planning, organizing and be able to work under pressure and meet
deadlines. You are expected to be familiar with refugee issues.
