REFUGE: General Call for Papers
REFUGE is a leading peer reviewed journal on forced migration published
in Canada. It provides analytical and reflective articles from a wide
range of local and international perspectives, as well as disciplinary
approaches of relevance to academics, policy-makers and practitioners.
REFUGE’s mandate is to encourage debates and critical reflection on
forced migration issues by engaging in discussions of emerging and
ongoing themes.
For its first issue under its new Editor-in-Chief (vol. 27, no. 1),
REFUGE welcomes all submissions that relate to forced migration.
Although the issue will include papers dealing with a variety of topics,
submissions regarding Canada’s recent attempt to reform its asylum
system and the humanitarian response to the recent earthquake in Haiti
are particularly welcome.
Papers may be submitted either in English or French and will be
published in the language of submission. They should generally not
exceed 7500 words, or 30 double-spaced pages, and must be typed and
submitted in electronic form. All submissions are subject to a
double-blind peer review process by independent experts. Shorter papers,
including commentaries and book reviews, are also welcome. REFUGE
adheres to the Chicago Manual of Style for social science papers and to
the Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation for papers in the legal
discipline (see style sheet at http://www.yorku.ca/refuge for details).
Papers must be prepared with full citation endnotes rather than with a
bibliography. Papers should include an abstract of approximately 100-150
words, highlighting the central arguments and/or findings of the paper.
Papers should also include 1-2 sentences indicating institutional
affiliation. Comme indiqué ci-dessus, nous publions également des

pour les articles rédigés en anglais.

REFUGE: Appel général à contributions
REFUGE est une revue internationale publiée au Canada deux fois par an.
Elle présente des articles analytiques qui reflètent des perspectives
locales et internationales, ainsi que différentes approches
disciplinaires pertinentes pour les chercheurs, les décideurs politiques
et les praticiens. La revue et son comité de lecture ont pour mandat
d’encourager le débat et l’analyse critique sur les sujets liés aux
migrations forcées, ainsi que de promouvoir la discussion sur la théorie
et les thèmes d’actualité.
Pour le premier numéro sous la direction de son nouveau rédacteur en
chef (vol. 27, n°1), REFUGE sollicite des contributions traitant des
migrations forcées sous ses multiples formes. Bien que le numéro
présentera des articles traitant de plusieurs sujets, la rédaction
invite aussi des contributions concernant la réforme récente du système
d’asile au Canada et la réponse internationale au séisme en Haïti.
Les contributions peuvent être en français ou en anglais et seront
publiées dans la langue originale. Elles doivent être en format
électronique (dactylographiées à double-interligne) et ne doivent pas
excéder 30 pages ou 7500 mots. Chaque texte sera évalué par deux experts
indépendants tout en préservant l’anonymat de l’auteur. Des articles
plus courts, y compris des comptes-rendus et des recensions, sont
également bienvenus. Les références doivent suivre généralement le
Chicago Manual of Style (voir le guide sur le site
http://www.yorku.ca/refuge) et doivent être présentées sous forme de
notes à la fin du texte (et non dans une bibliographie). Tous les
manuscrits, à l’exception des recensions de livres, doivent être
accompagnés d’un résumé de 100 à 150 mots et d’une phrase décrivant
l’affiliation institutionnelle de l’auteur. Articles in English are also
welcome. The style must conform to the same standards required for
articles in French.
