Hello David,
Sorry for the delay in replying. Thank you also for the workaround - this might explain why I can't replicate this on my Windows XP machine! This workaround shouldn't limit the functionality as we don't currently use any of the 'features' new to Windows 7 (or Vista for that matter).
I have a strong suspicion as to 'how' this is happening - Microsoft has a slightly different method for communicating the mouse position to the program (compared to Linux and Apple Mac). But not really as to 'why'!
If you could answer this question, I might be a little closer to a fix. Sometimes when running Anlaysis the spectrum window has a single depth tool bar (fig. a) and sometimes a double depth toolbar (fig. b) - possibly deeper). Do you experience this behaviour at both toolbar 'depths' or maybe only with a particular depth?
Picture here: http://www.bio.cam.ac.uk/~djo35/depths.png
Both depths work for me, but then I wrote the code so that it would (work for me). If your setup is somehow different slightly (ie 32 bit) then it could well break in an unexpected way.
Also, this is more for information for other matters, if you don't experience rendering / drawing issues in OpenGL mode, what GL_VERSION / GL_VENDOR information do you see printed in the console window?
Thanks again for your help, and I'm sorry this is becoming such a pain.
Dan

We have had some issues with GL drivers in Windows 7 (which have been solved by updating NVIDIA drivers) but this doesn't seem to be your problem. If your machine doesn't have a graphics card this could definitely be a problem.
