about the site, "snapageno" and photographer? There does not seem to be an
author contact. Is it you??? :)
non.
the photographer is a very, very nice fellow, Henri de Feraudy (a.k.a., "The
Mad Snapper,") who lived in a small village near Versailles until a few months
ago, when he moved elsewhere in France (i forget where).
he is, obviously, an expert photographer, with a special interest in stained
glass, and happily (for us) became a very valued member of my little Chartres
discussion list a few years ago.
his photographs of the Chartres windows (and others, here and there), many of
which are on that same site, have never been equaled, in my NsH opinion.
Margot Fassler's book on Chartres, which finally came out just last month
http://yalepress.yale.edu/yupbooks/book.asp?isbn=9780300110883
features many of Henri's photographs, unfortunately rather ruined by the
YUPpies' grotesquely incompetent printing technique.
the CD photos on that page
http://snapageno.free.fr/Churches/Chateaudun/index.htm
are really only snapshots, which he took at my request rather hurriedly
because i have been interested in that place for quite some time and just
needed some general "establishing shots" for some work on it which i have been
engaged in lately, trying to make sense of that "untidy" (as Lindy Grant has
styled it) building.
i am reluctant to say more, on-list, but would happily supply more information
--including his contact email-- to you or anyone else who might be interested,
off-list.
