Information Specialist
£31,671 to £38,951 pa
Fixed-term, three-year appointment
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Information Specialist to support PenTAG (Peninsula Technology Assessment Group), an established research group based in Exeter which conducts systematic reviews and economic analyses to inform national and international health policy on health technologies and public health strategies. Some of the work may also be on a programme of systematic reviews related to preventing heart disease in conjunction with the Cochrane Heart Group.
Working as part of project research teams, the successful applicant will be required to develop and apply literature search strategies, manage databases of citations and retrieve publications. The effective management of information, resources, and contacts within the NHS and university libraries, will be important elements of the role.
You will hold a postgraduate qualification in Information Science/Management, Librarianship, or another related area, or, have equivalent experience. Experience of contributing information specialist skills to support the planning and execution of systematic reviews will be essential, including the design of searches in bibliographic databases. Excellent oral communication skills, organisational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team are important.

Salary will be on scale £31,671 to £38,951 pa depending on knowledge, skills and experience. Job share or part time working will be considered for the right applicant.
