Dear colleagues,

My name is Phuong Nguyen and I am a PhD student at the International 
Research Institute in Sustainability (IRIS), University of Gloucestershire, 
England, with the principal supervisor being Prof. Daniella Tilbury.

I am writing to seek your help and support for my literature review and any 
suggestions on my PhD research.

The study is entitled ‘Engineering Education for Sustainable Development in 
Vietnamese Universities: Building culturally appropriate strategies for 
transforming the engineering curriculum towards sustainable development’. 
The study features two stages: the 1st stage entails a mapping of current 
movements towards sustainable development in Vietnam and the responses of 
the engineering community; the 2nd stage features 3 case studies of 
Vietnamese universities. The aim is to understand contextual and cultural 
influences which helps to build appropriate strategies for the 
transformation of the engineering curriculum for sustainable development.

I am working on the literature review at the moment and am looking for any 
studies and publications on Engineering Education for Sustainable 
Development and in general, Education for Sustainable Development related to 
Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific region. I would be grateful if you could 
suggest or provide me with any relevant information. Many thanks in advance.
