Before we move, I sell books, first on Amazon & half.com (used). Usually we
get a couple hundred dollars. Which we immediately spend on books *once
we've moved. *So we don't have to pay to move books we don't want and then
we get new books at a time we, in theory, don't have money for them.
Then, for the books that don't sell, I've tried a scheme where I donate a
"collection" to the local library -- you know, the collection of 20th
century plays we don't want. Tax deduction, local notoriety. Ooh, they
donated money to give ghetto kids Beckett. Nope. We just gave the books.
PLUS, we then get to check them out for free.
