b) The originally eleventh-/twelfth-century chiesa di San Pietro d'Albe at Alba Fucense (AQ) in Abruzzo, a rebuilding of an eighth- or ninth-century church that itself had been built over a temple base from the ancient Roman town of Alba Fucens. Badly damaged in the great Aquilano earthquake of 1915, it contains two noteworthy cosmatesque furnishings (an iconostasis and an ambo, the latter dated to the early thirteenth century) and was restored to its present appearance in the later twentieth century.
