Excellent. There seems to be a quite a 'movement' around RefWorks (or other ref man software) as a source of list data.

I've created RefWorks booklist mashups (http://lncn.eu/v3 / http://lncn.eu/mq7), as anyone who was at the last IRM event might remember, and have been following TELSTAR with great interest.

We've something more ambitious along the same lines in the pipeline for this summer - I hope I'll be able to give details soon.

Andrew,

Brilliant...just what we need I think.

I used RefWorks to create a 'proof of concept reading list system' some months back.

It's not very pretty (I'm no web designer) by it is functional.

Blog post here with links to the list:

Subject: What do we already have that *could* manage reading lists?

In discussions with our customers here at Swansea University we've drawn the conclusion that academics don't want yet another 'system' to login to manage their reading lists.

Thinking outside of the box, what's at the core of reading list management? References. Where do academics currently manage their references? A reference manager like Refworks, Endnote or Zotero (well at least the ones who take it seriously!)

So here's the thinking - what features would need to be added to current reference management applications to enable them to be used for reading list management? I think the answer is that they are not missing a great deal. I'm currently talking to Adept Scientific and Refworks about this idea.

In times of financial difficulty, we don't want to be paying for / developing a whole new system when something we already have can potentially do the job J

Kind Regards,
