Right... Where do I start trying to reply to this..!?

The University of Leeds has a setup along the following lines:
Catalogue: III Millennium/WepPacPro (there's no nice APIs to get data out :o\ )
VLE: Blackboard
Reading List System: Homegrown!

The Reading lists were initially (until 2006/7ish) Word documents, marked up using a macro to make links to the catalogue
The Lists were then managed using Dreamweaver (and the Word HTML cleaned up somewhat).
A Dreamweaver extension was written to pull data from the catalogue and make link creation quicker and more accurate.
A VLE building block was then developed to allow tutors to edit their lists (the Library still marks the lists up with links and orders resources).
A homegrown backend system (using php, perl and JQuery) was written to manage the lists.
Dreamweaver is still used to add links to the lists
A 'holdings report' system was (and still is being) developed - based around the Majax tool for III catalogues and JQuery, to allow Library staff to see what stock levels we have, order more stock, place orders for new items etc. (and soon make lists of items to be moved between collections e.g. from the main collection into out short loan collection).

An updated VLE building block will also allow tutors to inform bookshops what is on their reading lists too.

I hope that sometime we'll move from using Dreamweaver to enhance the lists to using an entirely web based approach.

At Leeds we don't have one style of reading list across the board (or even one citation style!). Some lists are more verbose than others, some are divided by weeks, others are split into essential/recommended/additional reading.
Our system currently allows freedom to the tutors to create a list 'like they used to' - in Word.

It's by no means complete (or finished) - it's a big system - but seems to work!

Hope that makes at least a bit of sense - if there are any questions I'll try to answer them!
Cheers,
John Salter

I thought it might be useful to have a thread for this, as I can see this is already coming up. Do people want to use this to just share what systems or combinations of systems, or other solutions (e.g. spreadsheets, homegrown, wikis, etc. etc.) you use?
