PhD studentship
Centre for Low Carbon Research
Birmingham Institute of Art and Design
Birmingham City University, in a major new initiative, has launched a multidisciplinary Centre of Excellence for Low Carbon Research to coordinate research across a range of disciplines, faculties and external partners. The Centre's scope ranges across technologies including novel bio-fuel sources and applications, the built environment, product design and creating desire. BIAD is a main contributor to this Centre. The low carbon themes being developed at BIAD include complexity science, building design, product and service design, and design for behavioural change and lifestyle choices.
BIAD has a PhD studentship available immediately for study related to any of the BIAD themes. The studentship includes a maintenance grant and fees, and is for full time study for three years based in Birmingham UK.
Applications are invited from excellent candidates who wish to work in a leading doctoral programme, and whose investigation will be connected with the BIAD themes. Applicants are invited to contact a relevant member of the centre's staff for advice before making a formal application.
Applications close on 31 May 2010
Interviews will be held on 16 June 2010
