The chapter's endowment was paid into a common fund. Even with prebends
a proportion was paid into the common fund (to encourage residence.)

It depends when the "reform" happened. If it was in the C9, C10 or C11
it would have resulted in a monastic chapter (and even in England
monastic chapters were always in a minority) or one under the Rule of St
Chrodegang (or similar). If it was in the late C11 or C12 or later, it
would result in an Augustinian chapter. (Chrodegangian - if that is a
word - chapters became either Augustinian or prebendal.)
