Welli are also grounded. Our flight this morning was cancelled also one booked tomorrow afternoon. Think I am in denial - my bag is still by the front door...
Best wishes to whoever made it and those left behind - let's make up for it at EIUG!

Mieko - we share your pain! I was scheduled to travel this morning with 2 other colleagues from Glasgow. Our flight - which looked hopeful last night - was cancelled this morning. The earliest that Continental Airlines can reschedule us for is Thursday.
I'll add my best wishes to anyone who made it. Please tell us all about it when you return!
Best regards,
Karen

Subject: Travelling to IUG from Europe
Just checked the IUG attendee list and counted about a dozen from the UK and another dozen or so from the rest of Europe. Have you been able to get away before the volcanic ash hit us or are you like me stuck at home with no prospect of flying out in time for the start of the conference?
I was originally scheduled to travel on Friday but my flights were cancelled. I managed to get re-booked for Saturday but the flights were cancelled again. There's no chance of getting re-booked in the next couple of days (even if the flights actually operate which is uncertain at this stage) and the earliest I can fly will be Tuesday arriving in the evening. My return flight is on Wednesday.
Although I'd hate to miss this IUG I'm beginning to think that sadly I'm not going to make it. If any of you are lucky enough to make it to Chicago, enjoy the conference, safe travels and hope you get back home without any delay.
