Just checked the IUG attendee list and counted about a dozen from the UK and another dozen or so from the rest of Europe. Have you been able to get away before the volcanic ash hit us or are you like me stuck at home with no prospect of flying out in time for the start of the conference?
I was originally scheduled to travel on Friday but my flights were cancelled. I managed to get re-booked for Saturday but the flights were cancelled again. There's no chance of getting re-booked in the next couple of days (even if the flights actually operate which is uncertain at this stage) and the earliest I can fly will be Tuesday arriving in the evening. My return flight is on Wednesday.
Although I'd hate to miss this IUG I'm beginning to think that sadly I'm not going to make it. If any of you are lucky enough to make it to Chicago, enjoy the conference, safe travels and hope you get back home without any delay.
