Subject: [ZOOARCH] Cranial suture closure in cattle
Dear all,
Does anyone know of a reference for the timing of cranial suture closure
in
domestic cattle? I am currently working on an assemblage of horn cores
from a medieval pit in south Wales, several come from skulls with the
frontal-parietal suture unfused and, in the absence of toothrows, I'd
like
to be able to make a stab at ageing the material...
Thanks,
Adrienne
