medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
No improvement needed, Jim. One could interpret the tense of
"convocat" as an "historical present," much used by both classical
and postclassical authors to narrate events vividly. The "rogavit"
then reverts to simple act in the past. We do something similar in
English when we tell stories.
