Apologies for cross posting.
The London Museums Hub Records Management Project is working with the
four Hub Museums, and the Museum Development Officers, to support
museums to implement records management. The project provides a range of
different initiatives to develop museum capacity in this area. It has
funding to provide museums with a short consultancy. Feedback on the six
consultancies provided over 2009/10 has been very positive.
We will provide up to 8 consultancies over 2010/11. Each consultancy
will last about two (non-consecutive) days, and should have a clear
output at the end. For example, museums might ask for help with writing
records management policies, developing staff roles to include records
management, creating records management strategies, or developing
in-house training on records management. Additionally the consultancy
will offer a small grant for appropriate furniture or equipment such as
shredders and lockable filing cabinets, depending on the needs of the
individual museum.
We are currently accepting applications from museums for consultancies
between July 2010 and February 2011. Interested museums should fill out
the short application form below, explaining what they need the
consultant for, and what the outcomes of the consultancy will be.
We are looking for applications that specify clear outcomes from the
consultancy to make a real difference, so please be specific about what
areas you want support in, and how the consultancy will help you. See
further information on award criteria on page 4 of the application form.
Successful museums will agree consultancy dates in the above period by
June.
Please feel free to discuss your application with your Museum
Development Officer before you submit it. To find out who your MDO is
