Hi Catherine - message from my entries guy:
Hi Catherine
You only need to use the cash in/certification code in the terminal
series of the exams (in most cases this is the summer series).
As you say, entering your students for the cash in code, and then not
sending it to the exam board by 'unconfirming them' will make your
records untidy and cause you far more extra unnecessary work.
I'm afraid I don't have a simple user guide for EBS4, but I can
confidently tell you that you will only need to use the cash in code
when your students are completing the final unit(s) of their
qualification.
If you contact Tribal www.tribalgroup.co.uk they may have a guide to
help with the process.
As for using the cash in code as a parent to the units(for when you
actually require it), this is totally up to what works best for you. You
can enter the cash in code alongside the units, or you can use the cash
in code as a parent so the entries for the cash in code to filter down
to the units. Neither way will cause problems when submitting the
entries to the exam boards.
I hope this is of some help to you.
Many thanks

Hi
Does anyone use EBS4?
We are pretty new to it and wanted to get some advice.
In January we were told that you had to enter students via the cash in
code (parent) and have the units as the children. This meant every
student
got entered for say BIOL1 (child we set as compulsory) and the biology
AS
cash in and then we had to unconfirm the cash in entry so that this did
not get sent to the board.
Is there any reason why January entries have to made via the cash in
code?
This to me just creates a very messy record of the students entries.
Does anyone have a simple easy to use guide they could send via email?
Cheers
