More than ever before, in the twenty-first century information
integration and accessibility is essential to improve human welfare.
This requires a professional collective effort, directed by sound
theoretical, methodological, and technological referential, to create
and to strength the culture of producing clinical information with
quality for appropriate patient care; to work in multidisciplinary
health teams; to support evidence-based health actions.
Purpose
This edition of the Symposium on Clinical Information aims to redesign
the information contained in patient records, exposing its impact on
various dimensions of health, including in this debate professional,
legal, scientific, and technological boundaries in the production of
clinical information.
Target
Professionals, lecturers, researchers, students, and managers in
health, health information, health informatics, and related services.
Context
University of Sao Paulo (USP) is in the 53th position, considering
18,000 Higher Education Institutions worldwide
(http://www.webometrics.info/index.html). The Ribeirao Preto Clinical
Hospital (HCRP-FMRP-USP) has 800 thousand patients attended in
different health specialties, with communication networks and the need
of complex information and the use of the terminologies of different
specialties. In addition, the HCRP has a strong interest in developing
efficient and precise information systems to be used as national and
international reference by other health units.
Call for participation
We invite professionals and researchers with solid formation to
present videoconferences in Portuguese or Spanish language about these
topics of interest:

Electronic Patient Record: technological limits and possibilities
