Applications are invited for an exciting new post in the NPEU Clinical
Trials Unit (NPEU CTU). We are looking for someone to play a central
role in the CTUs research activities which includes taking lead
responsibility for the design and analysis of NPEU CTU randomised
controlled trials. This post is ideal for a self-motivated statistician
with highly effective communication skills (written and verbal) who has
experience of designing and analysing not only clinical trials, but
ideally epidemiological/observational studies too.
We invite applications from medical statisticians who wish to advance
their research career within this successful Unit. This full or
part-time post is funded by the National Institute for Health Research
until the end of August 2011 in the first instance.
Depending on the interests and experience of the post-holder, there
will also be the opportunity to take lead responsibility for planning,
conducting and writing-up the statistical analysis for the Birthplace
prospective cohort study, and possibly other
observational/epidemiological studies conducted by the NPEU.
The NPEU CTU is one of 49 UKCRC registered Clinical Trials Units, and
one of two specialist trial units that are part of the Medicines for
Children Research Network funded by the Department of Health. For more
