Meeting Summary
This is a joint meeting between the Environmental Statistics Section and
the Glasgow Local Group of the Royal Statistical Society. The meeting
will focus on questions concerning assessment and reporting of the state
of the environment and the importance of statistical models
scientifically in such an assessment as well as in the management of
environmental resources.
The speakers and their titles are
Adrian Bowman (University of Glasgow) - Going with the flow: spatial
models for Scottish rivers
Adam Butler (BIOSS) - Birds, badgers and giant hogweed: assessing
changes in the distribution and abundance of individual species
Edward C Mackey (Scottish Natural Heritage) - Scotland's biodiversity -
the 2010 assessment.
