Just to keep the record straight, the previous plans for the Library of
Birmingham located it about 600m outside the city centre, to the East, in a
new development area (still under development), the current plans, far from
putting it "well out of the city centre", place it 300m from the present
library in a prime city centre lcoation with current pedestrian traffic of
15m per annum. Building work on site commenced in January and is due to
complete in March 2013.

Or the re marketing of the old familiar library.
By the way the new library in Birmingham looks to be well out of the
centre, will this affect usage (it will if there isn't a huge car park)!
The previous new building plans pout it centre stage not next to the Rep!
