We use Sarstedt Monovettes Ref 10.252. These 10mL tubes have a well designed built in syringe and we run them as primary tubes on our Abbott Architect analyser.
They have replaced our "old" 25mL plain universal tubes and we receive them directly from our GPs and Out patient clinics - they work very well.

Subject: Urine ACR samples
Dear colleagues
With the rapid increase in the number of urine samples we receive from GP's for ACR, we are looking at our processes & wondering if & how other labs are tackling this.
Do you receive samples from GP's in a tube that can be placed directly onto the analyser? Or
Do you receive MSU pots & then transfer the sample to a tube that can go on the analyser? is this done manually?
Do you transfer the patient ID to this tube manually? Does the top of this secondary tube need to be removed before analysis? Is this done manually?
If you receive urine samples in a tube suitable to go directly on your analyser, how is this achieved?
I would be grateful for any relevant feedback.
Many thanks
