CALL FOR PAPERS
For its 7th issue to be published in late 2010 / early 2011 by Editions Outre-Mesure, the editorial committee for the Cahiers du jazz has decided to devote a batch of articles to American saxophonist Michael Brecker, the most influential saxophone player since John Coltrane. Hence this call for papers.
Any aspects of Michael Becker's work can be dealt with, such as his contribution to linear improvisation, his eclecticism, his compositional work, his sound, the issue of his influence on many saxophonists, the social / cultural context he came from, his technical innovations, his influences etc.
Any aesthetic, analytical, musicological, sociological, biographical and other approaches are welcome.
Contributions should not exceed 1500 signs using Word or Open Office, and must be sent by email to Ludovic Florin before March 29, 2010 at the following address :

After the Cahiers du jazz reading committee's decision, the authors whose articles have been selected will be able to send their final version to Ludovic Florin at the same address, the deadline being August 28, 2010. Articles should not exceed 14 000 signs, using Word or Open Office. Finale must be used for musical examples.
All contributions must be in French or in English.
