Third International Conference of Students of Systematic Musicology (SysMus10)
University of Cambridge, 13th - 15th September 2010
The SysMus conferences are annual student-run events designed to allow advanced students in the field of systematic musicology – particularly those studying for PhDs or completing Masters’ degrees – to meet and discuss their research. Systematic musicology itself embraces an extremely diverse mix of epistemologies and methodologies from the humanities and sciences aimed at studying the phenomenon of music in its general rather than specific manifestations. The first SysMus conference took place two years ago at the University of Graz, Austria, and was followed by SysMus09, held recently at the University of Ghent, Belgium. Both were enormously successful and rewarding for participants, and we hope that SysMus10 will continue this trend.
For further details of the conference and the call for papers (abstract deadline 15th April 2010) please see: http://www.mus.cam.ac.uk/CMS/sysmus10/, or e-mail [log in to unmask]
