Title: Repertorium Biblicum Medii Aevi.
Publication info: Matriti, 1940 [i. e. 1950-
Physical descrip: v. 25 cm.
Contents: t. 1. Initia Biblica. Apocrypha. Prologi.
I used it to identify the so-called letter to the Laodicaeans I
encountered in an Ambrosiana MS years ago. Stegmuller was VERY thorough.

Alonso de Espina, a Spanish Franciscan who wrote a treatise "Fortalitium Fidei" around 1460, also includes this text in his proof that Christ rose from the dead in fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies. I believe that the letter is "The Report of Pilate to the Emperor Claudius"and is found in the Greek Acts of Peter and Paul and as an appendix to the Gospel of Nicodemus in Latin. This letter must have been known through copies of the Gospel of Nicodemus that were in circulation in the later middle ages.

I already figured out that this letter had to fictitious, but my question is, as Tom stated, how did Bernardino get it and what form was it in. Obviously he did not consider it to be false.
