Dear List Members
We will shortly be moving from two staffed desks to a single staff point with
an emphasis on staff moving away from sitting behind a desk and out onto the
floor to interact with users.
I would be interested to hear how anyone has addressed the issue of
telephones when staff are no longer at fixed service points and whether
anyone has experienced issues with ringing telephones/inability to answer
telephones or public access to telephones when staff are elsewhere.
Has anyone opted for portable phones and how does this work in practice?
Number of handsets; battery/charging issues etc.
How is communication between different departments and floors handled if
there are no telephones or a portable system is in place? Walkie talkies etc.
Any and all information gratefully received!
Best wishes
Mary
