Dear All,
This is a second call for papers for the Food & Drink in Archaeology: 4
Conference at the University of Exeter on April 22nd-24th 2010 (see attached
poster). The closing date for paper abstracts has now been extended to 18th
February; for posters the closing date remains at the 31st March.
The subject of food and drink has long been central to archaeology,
encompassing areas such as material culture, ideology, utilisation of fauna and
flora, nutrition, and its cultural and environmental context. This conference
aims to unite researchers from the various fields that link this common theme,
and welcomes papers and posters from all food and drink related subjects.
The conference starts with a plenary session on the evening of Thursday 22nd
April, when Professor Marijke van der Veen, will be speaking on “Eureka?
Innovation and change in ancient agriculture”.
This will be followed by two days of food and drink related papers on the
Friday and Saturday.
