We would be interested in finding out what kind of public wifi access other
local authorities are offering in their libraries, and in particular if
anyone is offering fully unrestricted (unfiltered) access to the internet.
We are especially concerned about the potential repercussions and liability
of offering a service which has inferior security features to those
currently found on the standard PN computers (i.e. firewall, web filtering),
in particular with regard to children and young people.
Has any authority investigated the legal implications of this?
Many thanks
