Dear All
We are reviewing our Copper and Zinc service and would like to determine in what clinical scenarios it is relevant to be offering these tests to. We are using guidelines for the TPN patients that influence requesting but the evidence seems sketchy in other areas eg: neurology, rheumatology requests. We do not vet requests but upon retrospective review we do not believe that many of the tests are appropriate. Does anyone have locally implemented guidelines or can point me in the direction of references that provides good evidence of when copper and zinc should be analysed.
Thanks for your time.
Regards
Andrea
