medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Meg,
The text is composed of 8 books in the Corpus Christianorum edition.
The text survives in many manuscripts, but i leave it to liturgists to
assess its impact. The translation is not the first.
There is an older translation, which I have used. Has anyone seen
reviews of the new translation?

The blurb informs us that the 'Rationale Div. Off. is arguably the most important meieval treatise on the symbolism of church architecture and rituals of worship . . . This edition is the first English translation of the Prologue and Book One in almost two centuries.'
