I couldn't agree more, and all the more reason to use Open Source, but
really that's down to access to the database, so if it's hosted
elsewhere one should stipulate contractually and in practice the regular
backups of the database be made to the client's location. Indeed one
could extend this concept to design, and I always stipulate now that a
design house provide the source unflattened design files and what fonts
were used. I do not want to have to go back to the agency to change a
colour or make the gaussian blur a bit less.
