I'm using precompiled FSL(centos5 32bit version) on Ubuntu 8.04 server(Hardy). Three steps are needed: first, untar fsl to your aim dir, then, install needed components through apt-get install binutils dc bc. Install XWindow system through apt-get install xubuntu-desktop libqt3-mt, If you want to use GUI, such as fslview. Last, edit your .bashrc(or /etc/bash.bashrc to enable system level configuration) follow instruction on fsl website.
It also works for current Debian version, but I haven't tested it on Karmic, hope it would work.

主题: [FSL] FSL on Ubuntu
Has anyone compiled or even successfully used the precompiled versions of
FSL on a recent Ubuntu (9.1, karmic)? I tried to compile and so far it has
not been successful. When I use the installer for the pre-compiled version
(which is recommended), it puts the various components of FSL in different
directories (/usr/bin, /usr/lib) and this ends up causing problems. For
example, the eddy_correct script does not work. Maybe it is just a matter
of editing these scripts, but I was hoping to be able to just download the
binary version and just set it up in my home directory and the set the
.bashrc file like I normally do, since I know everything works fine with
this set up.
