Barney,
You'll find a couple of references on Google such as
http://www.deddington.org.uk/history/articles/ironstone and
http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=63798. The first of
these contains references to geological memoirs which add further detail and
which you should be able to obtain via a library. I don't know anything
else about the area but I have copied this e-mail to the mining history
discussion group in the hope that someone else might be able to contact you
direct about the mines.
Good luck.
Regards,
Nigel

Hi,
Sorry to bother you with such a specific query. Do you know where I would
be able to find any information on the Fawler ironstone mines in
Oxfordshire? I'm a local resident with an interest in its history - I have
found little information on the internet and was hoping you could help.
Any advice would be warmly welcomed.
Thanks,
Barney
