Leadership Workshops for Disabled Peoples Organisations in England
These are exciting but challenging time for DPO's. Through changes to equality and human rights legislation and a shift towards personalised and user led services, the DPO sector is likely to grow significantly in future years.
So that the voice of Disabled People is clearly heard it is vital that DPOs demonstrate power leadership and establish themselves further as effective and efficient organisations within the social care, disability equality, inclusion and related industries.
Disability LIB are working with Essex Coalition of Disabled People and their partners to run a series of leadership workshop specifically designed for people in senior roles within Disabled Peoples Organisations (DPO's) in England.
The workshops will introduce individuals to tools and techniques that they can use to develop and enhance their skills to become effective DPO leaders. The workshops will include the following;
* What is leadership?
* Leadership in a DPO
* Communicating for results
* Effective influence
* Making financial choices
* Setting powerful outcomes
This workshop is free and travel costs/reasonable adjustments will be paid by Disability LIB. In return we ask that you fully commit to the programme including both pre-workshop activities and any follow up commitments - this will involve letting us know how you gave taken forward and implemented agreed action plans.
The dates of the workshops

Manchester Friday 27th November 09
