The job purpose
This post holder will work closely with the other Educational Software
and Systems Developer in the e-Learning Team, and with wider Support
Teams at the University of Bath. The primary purpose is to help maintain
and develop robust and resilient e-learning tools that meet staff and
student needs. This will involve the support and development of Moodle
which is the University’s Virtual Learning Environment and being the
primary lead on the University’s Online Unit Evaluation Service. The
post holder will be expected to think creatively about e-learning
software development and implementation, work within a context of given
structures and processes, and help deliver the University’s e-learning
initiatives.
The e-Learning Team
The e-learning team is part of the University of Bath’s Learning and
Teaching Enhancement Office (LTEO). The team works in collaboration with
academic and other colleagues from within and outside of the University,
as well as, from time-to-time, with other partners.
The e-Learning Team engages in several key activities. First, it plays a
key role in developing and supporting the University’s e-learning
initiative. Second, it offers consultancy and capability building for
individuals or departments interested in using learning technologies.
Third, it designs, develops, or enhances applications, online learning
tools and learning environments for educational or training purposes.

The successful candidate will report and be accountable to the Head of
E-Learning. Although on specific projects they will report and be
accountable to the Moodle Operations Manager
