Location: Glasgow
The Health Services Research and Effectiveness Unit produces evidence based
information and advice to support the implementation of new healthcare
interventions and technologies across NHS in Scotland.
We are seeking to appoint a Health Services Researcher to support a range of
activities primarily related to the work of the Scottish Health Technologies
Group including: production of systematic reviews and summaries of clinical
effectiveness literature; development of clinical and resource impact reports to
support implementation of evidence-based advice (including NICE guidance);
and support for research activity across NHS QIS.
This post is based within a team of researchers who work with other
scientists, healthcare professionals, patients and the public to produce a
range of evidence based outputs. The post holder may be expected to publish
work and contribute to scientific conferences in relevant fields.
This position requires a highly numerate, clear thinking and methodical
researcher who has the ability to organise and summarise large amounts of
scientific information, and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
In addition to a scientific or clinical degree, the post holder will be expected to
have a Masters degree in Public Health or a related discipline and/or have
extensive health services research experience, and to have an understanding
of health economic issues.
