Greetings:
I hope I'm not violating the posting parameters of the forum here with this post (it contains some specific citations that are not all formatted in the same manner, and they get a bit lengthy):
Here goes:
Dear Mr. Murray and Dr. Durling:
My current research/grant writing is "heavily invested" in how innovation is diffused both within organizations and between them, and there is quite a lot of material that has been published on this. The interdisciplinary teams that we have built here at the University of North Texas are also looking at how innovative practices are instigated and sustained within both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, and how innovation diffusion is operationalized in the technology management arena.
Mr. Murray:
Your topic of "Design during the Recession, in particular innovation" seems a bit broad in my initial read of your post, but perhaps you are indeed engaged in the process of winnowing this down, and once you do this, some of the following articles may prove useful to you (these fall under a pretty broadly spread categorical umbrella, but without a more tightly defined subject arena, I'll "swing wide," if you'll pardon the baseball analogy):

Hi Andy, and a warm welcome if you are new to this discussion forum.
There are no protocols here except asking questions, joining
discussions, and being respectful of others' views.
On your question, several of the main design organisations such as
ICSID, ICOGRADA etc. have run articles on this topic in recent times.
The Design Council has an article at:
