Dear All
You are invited to take part in a short survey, which is aimed at those
working in public libraries.
Title: Investigating the influence of donation, selection and
classification of creationist (intelligent design) literature on the
public library service in the UK.
This survey is part of my dissertation for a masters in library and
information studies. It seeks to investigate whether creationist and
intelligent design books in public libraries are classified as religion or
science. It also seeks to investigate what effects the gifting and
selection (or not) of these books/materials has on the library service,
including staff views.
A common definition of creationism is the acceptance of the early chapters
of Genesis literally, that the universe and all of its living creatures
including humans were created by God in the space of six days.
Intelligent Design is the idea that evolution alone is not enough to
explain the complex structures of some living things, so the intervention
of a designer (God) is needed at key stages.
The survey is a short, containing only 14 questions and can be found by
following this link:

Thank you very much, I appreciate the time taken to complete the survey.
Regards, Archie
