Makx:
Thanks for sending this link out to the ARCH list, but despite its
inherent interest it brings up a number of issues having to do with the
DCMI mission, our role as individuals and DCMI denizens (what else can I
call us?) in these kinds of discussions, and what we should be doing
with the information about DCMI and its implementation that is spread
all over the web.
Among other things, I'm becoming increasingly concerned that we are not
leveraging the widespread use and re-use of DC in the context of these
kinds of projects, nor collecting any information about such use for
prospective users. Is it enough for a small group to be aware of this?
Should we be thinking of some kind of automated aggregation mechanism
(Planet DCMI?). What are the implications for DCMI of this use? Do we
care if some of it isn't wise nor correct?
I've copied the AB list on this as well in hopes that some of these
issues might resonate with others as well.
Regards,
Diane
