By "critical" I mean that the part of a project in which the software
would be used lies on a critical path (or, loosely, "chokepoint") in
the process. Any "blockage" in the "chokepoint" would delay the
entire research project. Such a delay might (in this case) result from
the software "performing" in such a way that it could not be relied on
for further work and alternative software had to be used. Clearly I'm
not talking about a simple "break", easily repaired by re-installing
etc the software. I mean an underlying major error of conception or
execution. An example would be the fragile Master Document function in
MSWord.
That said, I think that the program is extremely interesting, and, as
I said I like the idea of being able to write additional functions.
I'll certainly keep an eye on it.
