The haiku was my own - I write poetry to explore creative processes and meaning making - here's another poem and will then stop!
Thunderstorm at Night
When the storm finally comes, it has to be violent, declarative,
sustained for so long you think the world
must be fundamentally transformed.
The slow erosion which before seemed so convincing
is now far less than the truth. It seems to me
that having space is dangerous;
something gigantic must roll forward to occupy it,
permanently denting the past.
Inside the house, you know you are safe. All the plugs
have been disconnected, a desk is a desk,
a wardrobe stands its ground, and your shoes are precisely
where you left them, turned away from each other,
nowhere to go. The reading lamp hangs its head
like a bluebell undiminished by the rain.
Nothing is simple.
Metal has to be beaten hard with a definitive weapon
to shape a work of art.
The phrases advance while the light changes.
By the time you get to morning, the pages will be filled,
even though many things might have been better left unsaid.

I too have been breathless and speechless partly as my Blackberry is bursting and partly as I am not supported by a salaried position as it appears so many others of you are. As a free lance completely and with honorary positions in two universities , while very interested in debate am in awe of the time ipeople have to write!! Am presuming students gone, exam boards behind you and 'creative' or freeflowing summery juices releasing! Envy envy...
Also often want the whole references for enticing tidbits for example the most recent HAIKU .. Very yummy to a dance movement psychotherapist such as me
