Really enjoying the debate and very happy to be a (silent) participant- just one small observation: there's so much to reflect on that when people come back with so many points so quickly I feel out of synch, as if I'm running alongside a speeding train, not sure where it's heading and getting out of breath...
Here's a haiku about the complex relationship between creative processes and words:
Creativity:
Silent reflections
on liminalities;
meaning is wordless

(Apologetically adding to the flurry...)
Perhaps, having had the flurry, we could apply a 'less is more'
approach?
There is no moderation of this list, and there are no protocols other
than the usual courtesies, and the obligations of being a JISCmail list.
I believe we wouldn't want it any other way. If colleagues do, then
please say so. Otherwise - to avoid even more flurries and overloads -
silence will be taken as consent.
I'm not suggesting we stop....but perhaps we could with a bit more going
placidly amid the noise and haste, and remembering what peace there may
be in silence!

A veritable flurry is somewhat of an understatement: I am inundated
and my brain is in overload. I fear that I will have to unsubscribe
if this carries on much longer.
