Thanks Ant, your email prompted a thought
- suppose every critical academic (or even just those of us on this list and those we can spread word to) pulled the money from our struggling, unethical pensions and invested in Vesta plants and similar?
We could establish a federation of co-operative plants throughout Europe (and elsewhere for colleagues in US, etc..)
Who'se up for it?
I' m sure its already being done in some form, but clearly not getting to the Vesta's of this world..help, ideas, etc welcome!
Note: USS manages to be the 'leader' amongst ethical pensions with a policy of NEVER disinvesting! So they talk to Shell and Exon, etc whilst keeping our money with them!!

Subject: Re: save UK's only wind turbine plant please help
It is also worth noting that Vestas, a Danish company, are cutting jobs
across the various countries in which they operate, and not just in
their Isle of Wight factory. A victory, even a partial one, in this
case, may inspire similar fights elsewhere.
