Andrew,
We upgraded about 10 days ago at Liverpool.
Prep. phase was much as expected; commit phase was quicker than usual - only about 15 minutes downtime here between going into maintenance mode and rebooting into service again.
One problem remains - fines self-payment through 3M machines has failed (well, fines are accepted but not processed and remain on Millennium, so quite good for income generation!). That one still is being batted between us, III and 3M.
QuickClick (Acquisitions) failed to restart but that was quickly sorted.
Otherwise no problems here, but if anyone's still using it, Guicat doesn't work in R2009A,
David

Subject: Upgrading to Release 2009a
Dear all,
Just a quick question for you brave early adopter types. I
was wondering if any of you have upgraded to Release 2009a
yet?
I'm thinking of doing this in the next 2-3 weeks. It would
be reassuring to know there are other (academic?) libraries
over here that have already done this, and any problems you
might have had.
I've looked at the "big IUG" mailing list and found this:
<http://innovativeusers.org/list/archives/2009/msg02690.html>
about a problem with the commit phase because of a limit on
sizes of temporary files. Nothing else really.
Replies on- or off-list welcome, I can summarise for the
list if you would rather not post.
Thanks,
Andrew
