Libraries are constantly being told that we need to promote our services to
new audiences – to become more visible within our local communities – to
have a higher profile.
Two new courses from SINTO address this in two very different ways.
Web 2.0/Social Computing looks at the new, interactive technologies such as
Blogs, Wikis and Social networks which go under the tag of Web 2.0 and asks
what are they, how do they work and how can they be used? The workshop
will explain how librarians can use these services to promote their own
services and as a source of information.
Display techniques recognises that libraries need to promote themselves in the
real world as well as cyberspace! This workshop will demonstrate how we can
put on eye-catching displays using low-cost materials and techniques.
Both these workshops are hands-on events that will give staff the skills they
need to make a difference in the workplace.
