We get involved in a wide range of design projects. We are currently
designing some snow shoes. I wondered if group members perhaps in
Scandinavia or Canada have seen some reference material related to the human
factors of snow shoes. Snow board research may also be interesting. For
example the effects in terms of effort or fatigue of varying the attachment
point of the binding relative to the snow shoe. Human factors related to
different styles of binding. Some bindings are pivoted in relation to the
snowshoe. What is the relative performance in relation to non pivoted
bindings? I will be doing a user study with prototypes. I am in the process
of doing a literature search.
