medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
There is a similar one at the Catharijnenconvent in Utrecht and from about
the same time.

A linen alb and amice, and a silk stole and maniple, attributed to
St. Hugo survive at La Valsainte in excellent condition. The alb is
decorated with whitework and silk embroidery at the neckline,
placket, cuffs, and underarms. It is cut with extremely wide side
gores which are tightly gathered at the top (they begin at about hip
level) with an unusual form of gathering that forms a raised
decorative pattern of diamonds and chevrons (it is not smocking).
Thanks to a colleague, I now own a copy of this alb with simplified
embroidery but the same cut and construction.
