medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear medieval-religion colleagues,
I am forwarding this message, posted on the AAIS list serve this
morning.
Michelangelo Picone was a great scholar and a great man. He was my
master when I took courses and taught at McGill University, and he
remained a faithful friend and advisor afterward.
I am not alone in being saddened deeply by his death.
I'll let you know when I hear about his funeral.
George

E' con grande tristezza che devo annunciare la perdita personale di
uno dei miei migliori amici e per il campo dell'italianistica di uno
dei suoi grandi studiosi: Michelangelo Picone. Trasferitosi qui alla
Arizona State University dall'Universita' di Zurigo l'agosto passato
Michelangelo e' spirato serenamente, in compagnia della moglie e uno
dei figli, ieri 24 Aprile dopo breve malattia.
