We are seeking a database manager to join the Paediatric Intensive Care Audit Network (PICANet), a national audit of paediatric intensive care based at the Paediatric Epidemiology Group. You will be responsible for ensuring a high level of data security and efficient processing of a complex dataset held in Microsoft SQL server. Providing comprehensive programming support to enable the production of routine and ad hoc reports, you will answer technical queries from data entry personnel in paediatric intensive care units throughout the UK and Ireland, be responsible for implementing dataset changes and developing improved reporting and data validation algorithms.
You will also be involved in developing a proposed web-based interface for authorised individuals to input data online and to interrogate the national and local databases interactively. Within the Group there will be opportunities to work on other large population-based disease register datasets and to contribute to other research projects.
The post is available for a fixed term of 24 months (with the possibility of extension dependent on funding). While the post is based on the University of Leeds campus, visits to other organisations may be required.
